A Message from John Denver!

We just never know where or when a message will come to us. Thinking about just that, the words of an obscure John Denver song came to mind. I listened to it this morning... and I'm blown away by the deeper message.  It's all about being present, on the path, listening to Deep Guidance:
Back in 1958 we drove an old V-8
And when it gone a hundred 'thou
We got out out pushed it a mile

CHORUS
We didn't know who we were
We didn't know what we did
We were just on the road

Headin' down from Canada
On a gravel road a mile from Montana
Then my Daddy read a sign
and took us in the wrong direction

I asked my Daddy where are we goin'
He said we'll just follow our nose
So I looked out the window
And dreamed I was a cowboy

CHORUS
We didn't know who we were
We didn't know what we did
We were just on the road

Met a girl in a truck café
Fell in love almost right away
Then the Mercury was ready to go
And I had to leave her

A11
Shooby Dooby Doo Shoo Doo
Shooby Dooby Doo Shoo Doo
Shoo Doo

Go home said the man in the moon go home
Go home said the man in the moon go home

Because it's gettin' sort of late
And I'll soon turn out my light
Go home said the man in the moon go home

CHORUS
We didn't know who we were
We didn't know what we did
We were just on the road
We didn't know who we were
We didn't know what we did
We were just on the road
A11
We were just a riding on...
We were just a riding on the road.

  1. Hi Chris- I have always loved John Denver; in his lyrics, I most often found what he wrote to be ahead of his time for mindful living. I think that is because he was completely connnected to nature. More often his songs had themes of on the road, in the mountains, water, etc. Thanks for visiting my Mindful Art blog; I hope you'll become a follower. I find it most interesting that you seek peace in between calls where suicide is being considered--such chaos and sorrow. Mother Teresa said " More people are starved for love and affection in this world, than they are for bread." When one gets to the bottom of the pit of hopelessness there is often drugs and alcohol involved some how and definately a feeling of being unloved or unlovable..My hope and prayer for what you do is that: God Bless you, Buddha Bless you and all compassionate people Bless you.
